The ask
I was tasked with coming up with a visual style and animation for an event video showcasing technology at the Niagara Summit. I worked alongside our creative director and provided some visual styles and concepts that were then used to craft a script and inform the lead editor on what footage to select.

Design
I initally started this process by selecting a specific plugin for After Effects called Plexus 3 in order to create my web features. We decided on utilizing the web from the client's brand package, but instead of a flat 2D version, we upgraded it to 3D and I felt this was the perfect choice. It allowed me directly composite these webs into our footage.
First, I made various versions of the web and selected my favorites. I then exported them on an Alpha and put into Photoshop for color and typography. The designs below are what I submitted to the client to get approved before we implemented them into the video. I designed with some of the ideas that the creative director and previously spoke about including a timeline scene, text callouts and an end card.

Camera Tracking
I utilized the camera solve tool in Mocha Pro in order to get my camera tracking data. This was an easier solve that required little work below. But I think it shows well how it gives me data to work with. I can then import that data into After Effects and use it to figure out where my 3D webs should so it tracks properly. In this shot, I wanted to camera to move through it.

Animation
Based off the designs, I tried to create scenes similar that would help set up the mood. I worked with the editor beforehand to decide on rough timings for specific scenes. Below is scene_01 which I matched together with the music. I was able to use a lot of the native After Effects features to help make the scene dynamic like motion blur, depth of field and lens flares.
