The ask
Create a 30 second video showcasing LendingTree's new Spring App for personal financing. A script was already provided and I had about a week in total to wrap this one up.
Design boards
I tried to keep my designs within the branding the client provided. I was given a Figma file containing the different designs used for the new app. Overall, I wanted to have a 3D phone in the video. It was specifically requested from a previous project. However, I felt the phone could be more stylized given the new branding.
I utilized the new 3D engine built into After Effects to create my renders which I then imported into Photoshop. I still find that my designs are more polished when I keep it in PSD.
Animation, landscape
This is the 16x9 version of the video. I did all my animation in After Effects. I had to utilize a lot the 3D camera. I kept everything flat with no depth of field to match the right look. Overall, I kept the animation pretty simple and just let the designs shine through.
